One of the main goals of the project is to provide vanilla
fans true mmorpg feeling. To accomplish this we have implemented many minor and major changes in the economy sector of the game, such as
 increasing the stack size of almost all tradegoods (like cloths, ore and herbs) to 200 instead of the original 20 or 10.
... No item is soulbound ...

HARDCORE ELEMENT

Making death actually hurt in WoW was one of our main ideas. We tried permanent death - but this is not appropriate, tests showed. We tried 100% item loss but that was not fun. Instead we went for "Item Drop on Death". Each time you die all your EQUIPPED GEAR WILL BE LOST And stored at a vendor that spawns on your corpse. It will sell your gear to anyone for vendor price. This vendor will despawn in 5 minutes!

So yeah combined that with the FFA PvP makes Mayhem a pretty hard to survive in and pretty rewarding if you still manage to do so.
...and there would always be ppl trying to kill you and AH your epix...
